It's not easy because sometimes later you'll find out parts were made or assembled elsewhere or you can't find whatever American made so have no choice.

last month i needed an E brake cable for my truck, I saw a dorman one on amazon for 7$ and I was like"Its prolly made in china" so I will get the GM one for 12$

There was a book that came out a couple of years ago written by someone who tried living for a year without buying anything made in China for herself and her family. She said it was near impossible.

yes, The union used to give a BOOK with all the things made in usa for you to purchase from, it turned into a small catalog and then after NAFTA it was like a kids menu, sad..

I remember GE making an effort to keep making TVs & VCRs in the 90s, the last American company doing so, then not anymore.

Yea, my Grandfather worked for Philco during the war. Every nut, bolt, piece of metal, tube etc was all made in house.

My buddy was a blacksmith at the Phila Navy yard, every tool etc was made in house.I was at his house and he had some really nice drilling hammers , best I have ever seen, I asked him where he got them and he was like " I made them".. now everything is china junk except Snap-on, Mac, Channelock and Matco tools
