I just read about this.
The lawyers were prosecutors in a murder case against a navy SEAL that had apparently garnered international attention (first time I've heard of it, but Trump got involved). The defendant was found not guilty. They lost the case. That's not medal worthy.
The lead prosecutor was removed from the case for having his team illegally spy on the defense, the press, and one of Trumps personal lawyers. That's not medal worthy.
While questioning a witness and trying to prove the defendants guilt the witness ended up confessing to the murder on his own volition. The prosecution was left humiliated. That's not medal worthy.
It appears the medal ceremony was more about saying FU to the defense and Trump than about rewarding excellent service.
Trump took the side of the real military, the people that were fighting and killing ISIS. The bureaucrats back home sided with ISIS and tried to ruin one of our peoples lives.
Strip those medals.
