Look at the glorious Communist countries in the far-east, they don't put up with gay pride (gays undergo electrical shock therapy in China), they don't put up with Muslim terrorists, (they are thrown into gulags or shot by firing squad), they publicly execute traitors, and they love their nation. It didn't let gays marry, that was just a recent series of laws that were passed state-wide, not federally, like civil-rights, and we've always had freedom of religion in this country, so I don't see why you are saying that it covers Muslims, and if it did, well, still, Jim Crow laws were pointless and a waste of time.

We had freedom of religion, yes. But there were no laws that forbid discrimination of people for having different religions until the act passed. And as such before the act was passed it wasn't merely name calling. It was also acts of violence against Muslims, atheists, and even Black Christians from extremists that thought black people were tainting their Christianity. And I'm pretty sure the Nation of Islam, which Malcolm X was a part of, was full of Muslims. Yes the Jim Crow laws were pointless, but not to those that embraced them and used it to their racial advantage.

You're right that the act didn't let Gays marry, but it did give them the right to be who they are and pursue the same goals in life without discrimination. The Civil rights act wasn't just about Black people.
