I eat when I'm stressed so pretty much all the time, but if I'm really upset about something and have an angry or crying fit my stomach goes into knots and I can't eat.

I like to add tomato sauce, or if I have it on hand pasta sauce, maybe toss in some okra and corn. MMM

I live a LITTLE bit out there. I am not out in the back woods or anything though.

Tomato sauce, and corn with cabbage.... I can see that working, you must cook a lot, I would've never thought of those things going together!

You bet your cabbage soup I cook a lot! LOL! I love tomatoes, especially sauce. I do tend to sometimes like strange food combinations, but cabbage soup is really not my own creation, though I do just make it however it strikes me at the time.

That's cool. And agreed tomato's are the best! I don't get how people don't like them

Don't think too much, just focus on getting things done.
3 ups, 5y
Sometimes that's best, I envy you for being able to get things done though everytime I start something I usually loose interest pretty fast...

It's the delegating and hovering to make sure they do it that feels like work! I could do it all myself I guess, but then they would never learn personal responsibility or self sufficiency.

I mean I pick up the living room, and handle most of the laundry room, and the cat box... But I have a minor case of odd and I like having things around me, it's like being a minor hoarder. When I have to pick up areas like my room I feel so open, and revealed. .and I hate it....

Not enough places to put things, and I am a bit of a hoarder. I am learning to get rid of things that I do not need.

Yeah it can he really hard to sometimes.... Often times I'll make connections to objects that have no real significance....but good for you for starting to let go! Bad I said it can be really hard

Why dost thou shun the politics stream, my Liege?

Here's a boomer meme I found that will hopefully entice you to return

That's kind of me too. I never really paid attention though, now that I think about it the worse something is the more I really can't eat.

I can eat almost any vegetable raw. steamed, fried or boiled no thank you 🤮
3 ups, 5y
They get mushy. I prefer steamed or roasted. Fried is okay but I do not prefer it. I will do boiled beets, or rutabaga. Those don't get too mushy.

Actually I can't tell... Sometimes I eat everything I can eat, and sometimes I eat nothing at all..... Now I hardly ate the past few days because the hot weather blocked me, and I notice that now that the hot weather is over, that I'm regaining my appetite.

I find that I don't want to eat as much in the heat, unless it's stuff like salads and sandwiches.

My grandmother used to make fresh cucumber salad with chives out of her garden. With some kind of light oil. Thinly sliced. It was a nice meal in the heat of the summer.

I LOVE cucumber salad! I usually do sweet onion, cucumber a little oil and vinegar, maybe some dill. I have never done chives though, I am going to try it.

Actually, you might be right about the dill. She grew that too. Maybe it had both. I use to pick chives while passing by just for the bit of onion taste. It was right next to the raspberries.

It was so nice to have fresh garden food. It's just so much better picked fresh. She grew Kohlrabi and made a great white sauce. It's as good as cauliflower with cheese sauce.

I love kohlrabi! Wait.. was this in the US? I thought that was grown in warmer climates? I am probably wrong. Any idea on what was in that sauce? I do kohlrabi as often as I can buy it. I need some new ways to prep it.

No, it's grown all over.

It's a milk based sauce. Probably not too much else. Maaaaaybe some cheese and flour? Something that thickens it up. I think she just boiled it. It has quite the nice texture when cooked nice. Not that much taste but the white sauce gives it it's flavor.
2 ups, 5y
I usually like to either steam it or saute it with a little salt and butter, or just have it raw. The flavor is nice. Tastes like a cross between radishes and broccoli. The kids eat it like it's candy if I just cut it up and stick it in the fridge. I can think of worse snacks! LOL
