If he was serving today, he would speak out against Trump, as he did against Nixon. I was raised by conservative Republicans. He had the courage of his convictions. It is interesting that I cite a quote that casts the late Senator in a positive light, and you bring up a negative. Then, you accuse "liberals," as being evil. I have never called the Senator a racist and never would. EvenhHis Son, in weekly meetings I had with him decades ago, called his Dad out on a detail once in a while. I took the Senator's advice and disagreed without being disagreeable. Try it sometime.

I'm more concerned about people entering congress then becoming millionaires, then I am about millionaires entering congress and giving away their paycheck to charity.
