70s was so much better. I hated everything about the 80s. It blows my mind that there are millenials that think 80s music was great. smh. They need to watch some Midnight Special reruns!

LOL, I used to watch as a kid (sneak out of bed, turn on TV at low volume).Lately, I've been watching Midnight Special playlists on Youtube. My faves right now are The Spinners Rubberband Man, Wild Cherry's Play That Funky Music, Focus's Hocus Pocus (must see!), and pretty much anything funk, disco, and rock. I never really got into punk, but I love The Clash.

I'd be looking for Cheap Trick and AC/DC, haha.

I hated Disco back then, save for KC & The Sunshine Band and a couple of other songs (incl Play That Funky Music, Santa Esmeralda's Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, and that gem of a classic, Ain't Gonna Bump No More (With No Big Fat Woman) - or was that last one Funk?). But in later years, it all sounds pretty good to me. haha, even the stuff we didn't like back then sounds way better than what's coming out today.

Same, had to keep it low. Don KIrschner's Rock Concert was another.

Some kid from a family I know (gosh, he's round 27, time flies) used to quote me lyrics from some awful stuff from back then, obviously heard it from his parents who are around my age and have really bad taste in music. He couldn't understand how I did not know the words. I retreated to Punk Rock and Kate Bush in '82 because everything suddenly turned so horrible then, but he just doesn't get why I did.
I keep pretending to myself no one really listened to the garbage from then, it was just a hoax perpetrated by MTV!
