Trump has forced the “squad” into the spotlight. He never silences his opponents, but he does take them on.

That's what he did though. That's why there was friction between Pelosi and The Squad before his tweets, dems were trying to reduce The Squad's visibility in the public eye because of the damage they were doing to the party's reputation with the election coming up.

By making those tweets, Trump reunited them against him and put The Squad firmly back in the spotlight.

And in so doing rallied Democrats against him. If it was a strategy to splinter his opposition, it failed miserably.

No, as I said, it wasn't designed to splinter them, it was designed to unite them, because he knows The Squad is the biggest threat to the democrats' election bid(s). That's why Pelosi was trying to reign them in and why AOC started labeling her a racist.
