‘That's not what I asked. I said if a majority of people in Pakistan thinks killing Christians is moral, it must be, right? Using your argument, something is moral if most people say it is.’
Wrong. I meant the majority of mankind, not the majority of a nation.
‘Slavery: Exodus 21 talks about where you can buy slaves, how to treat them, and when to let them go. If you think the Bible (and God) doesn't support slavery, you clearly haven't studied the Bible.’
That passage in the Bible was teaching those who have slaves and refuse to free them them to treat their slaves with respect. By giving laws to regulate slavery, God is not saying it is a good thing. By giving laws about it, He is stating that it is a bad thing. We don’t make laws to regulate good things. You won’t find any laws that tell us it is wrong to be too kind, or that the earth is too clean and we have to pollute it. Slavery being included in the Bible means that it is a bad thing that needs regulation to stop it from growing. I also find it interesting that you forgot to include the parts of the Bible where God opposes slavery. For example, in Exodus 21:16, it states: ‘He who kidnaps a man and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, shall surely be put to death.’ and in Exodus 21:18–21: ’If a man beats his male or female servant with a rod, so that he dies under his hand, he shall surely be punished.
‘Murder and genocide: Joshua and later books contain numerous instances of Israelites wiping out entire cities and towns, killing everything alive, including women, children, babies and livestock. This is at the command of god.
Marrying young girls to grown men: Numbers 31, the Israelite soldiers kill all the Midianite men, and bring the women and children to Moses. He is angry that they left the boys and women alive, so he commands that all the little boys and non-virgin women be slaughtered. He then commands that the little virgin girls be given to the Israelite soldiers as spoils of war. He gives little girls to grown men as war brides. And your god is okay with that.’
The people judged were guilty of evil, and the righteous were spared. The people who were killed were violent and sinful. The population was being judged for serious crimes and offences, not minor ones. The wicked were judged just as they would have been in hell. God is merciful. You may disagree, but that is not my problem. It is clear you will refuse to change your opinion here, so we should cease this pointless argument.
