You ever seen King of Masks?

No, but the plot sounds interesting! I haven’t watched many Chinese movies, and the ones I watch I can’t remember the title. Used to watch all the chow yun fat movies. Now I mostly watch Korean and Japanese movies.

I remember seeing a Chinese movie late at night. A typical boy meets girl, he's not rich or sophisticated enough. There was nothing on and I had insomnia. Anyway, he's trying to win her over, typical fair but charming. Start rooting for the guy. End of the movie, he calls her and professes his love. Drives out to go be with her on his crotch rocket motorbike. Gets in a crash and dies. lol I love foreign movies.

I have a decent link to a YouTube vid, if you want to watch the King of Masks. I'd just have to dig it up.

I watch alot of Japanese and some Korean. Any in particular that stand out for you ? 😁

There was an older movie I really liked but I forgot it’s title and can’t find it :( Normally I’m pretty good at googling to find things but no luck. The daughter doesn’t like her stepdad, so she finds her mom’s high school boyfriend and tries to whip him into shape to try to get them back together - and get them under a special tree from their past... I cry easily when watching movies, and I’m crying now just thinking about it and the ending.

There’s a more edgy one where the mother dies in a bus crash but her spirit transfers into her daughters body, and the dad has to deal with it. Love the twist ending. I did find the title again but don’t have it handy.

Windstruck (movie) is a favorite one, love the action and the actress.

There are more but not necessarily stands out, at least at the moment.

Recently I’ve matched Marebito (gory creepy movie, not much plot to it), L.DK, and After The Storm which I started to re-watch yesterday.

I watched after the storm, I thought it was pretty decent. I think I've seen windstruck atleaest the plot seemed familiar to me when I looked it up. I've seen so many Asian films that it's hard to keep track. 😅 I watched a film called kikujiro recently it had a nice story and was pretty funny at times.

I also like My Dear Enemy, it’s kind of similar to After The Storm but maybe not as good. However it does have a cute actress!

It did feel pretty long, but most movies are like that. And the last 15 or 30 minutes seem to pass quickly. I was thinking about how will this movie end?? Lol....

The other interesting thing I noted, was it took exactly one hour of movie time to get to the destination, and one hour of movie time to get back home.

Lol, I wouldn't have even noticed details like that 😂. Some films do tend to drag on, but if it has a nice story I'll watch it to the end.

I just finished watching Gou Gou The Cat, it’s a 4 episode mini-drama. I don’t think I ever cried this much, every single episode! If you like cats it is a good one to watch.

I just watched Tokyo Sonata movie. I liked it. It does have a happy ending after the family gets torn apart... again not something for the kids to watch!

I just watched Neko Ramen Taisho... I laughed my head off and cried too. It’s oddball movie, but still relatively tame. A cat opens up a ramen shop.
