Some of those people want to kill gays, other groups just wish they realized how twisted their thinking is.

God didn't tell man to not ride vehicles. He did say marriage was between one man and one woman though.

Yeah, but god also told women to submit to men, and the less said about how his words were put into action the better.

Well, the husband is supposed to be the head of the family, so I don't see what's wrong with it. Maybe that's why Christian couples don't have as high of a divorce rate. Wives that submit to their husbands and husbands that love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it.

Oh? Really now?

As high a divorce rate as what? Are you kidding?

I trust personal experience more than some random article that anyone could've fabricated. I've traveled many places over the years, and in all that time, I've never known a Christian couple that divorced. Maybe I just hang around true Christians more than other people.

Also that article doesn't mention those who don't consider themselves Christian or athiest. Even if the data were true, which I'm skeptical of, they leave out a lot.

Meh.

Your anecdotes are irrelevent.

Hell, you can't even recall Scripture correctly.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

That's Ephesians 5:22 and 25. Husbands and wives not men and women.

"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord."

I fail to see how this makes it better

David Popenoe, co-director of the National Marriage Project at Rutgers University has said that the survey doesn't make sense. He based this belief on his assessment that Christians follow biblical models of the family, making a bond that "the secular world doesn't have...It just stands to reason that the bond of religion is protective of marriage, and I believe it is."

Tom Ellis of the Southern Baptist Convention suggests that the Barna poll is inaccurate because the people contacted may have called themselves born-again Christians, without having previously made a real commitment to God. He said: "We believe that there is something more to being a Christian...Just saying you are [a born-again] Christian is not going to guarantee that your marriage is going to stay together

Not to mention you can't generalize everyone by the 5000 people (or however many it was. It was a similar number) they gathered info from. Could've been selective.

Because you don't on Saturdays?

And He never said marriage was with one man to only one woman.
0 ups, 5y
My dear sir from the very beginning God has maintained marriage is between one man and one woman. And in Romans it states basically people are doing unspeakable things in concern to being gay and that kinda thing. And... How do I not recall Scripture correctly?

I won't respond to your statements on that picture though since they are not Bible verses. Come back with the real thing then I'll explain them.

No. Freedom of religion isn't against the Bible. You can worship whomever you want. It's a sin to worship false gods, but not all sins are illegal. Following the Qu'ran (that is the correct spelling, right?) should be illegal since it commands violence against those who don't believe in the same Islam beliefs. But religious practices that don't hurt other people? I think that should be legal.

That was the law, and the law for the Jews at the time. We're not under the law anymore.
0 ups, 5y
He does hold everyone to the same standard now. Back then, with His chosen people, he had to make rules to keep them Holy. Following the laws in the Books of Moses isn't what keeps our fellowship with God intact now. Yes, those laws are good to follow, it's wrong to steal, but the rituals that applied to the Jews to separate them from the world are no longer needed. For example, they couldn't eat pigs. Now though, we don't need to avoid bacon.
0 ups, 5y
Back then it was a different time buddy. Not sure I have time to explain it all, so I'll try to give you a condensed response. Before Jesus came to Earth as a man, people didn't have the Holy Spirit (part of the Trinity) in them. So, to keep them from mingling too much with the people groups that didn't worship God, He gave Moses the law, and told the Israelites. Now accepting Jesus is what sets God's people apart. If we lived back then and believed God, we would have the same laws. And I don't think there were any laws that were bad in the OT law. Some just aren't necessary to follow anymore.

Surah 9:6 "And if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of Allah . Then deliver him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know."

Surah 9:7 "How can there be for the polytheists a treaty in the sight of Allah and with His Messenger, except for those with whom you made a treaty at al-Masjid al-Haram? So as long as they are upright toward you, be upright toward them. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous"

Surah 9:29, "(Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture) the Jews and Christians (as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day) nor in the bliss of Paradise, (and forbid not) in the Torah (that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the religion of truth) do not submit themselves to Allah through confession of Allah's divine Oneness, (until they pay the tribute readily) standing: from hand to hand, (being brought low) abased."5

"Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled." Is what you probably wanted to show. It talks about how you should fight thoes who haven't accepted the scripture, meaning those who aren't Muslim, Christian or Jews, and somehow convince them to Willingly pay tribute. How? Idk. But thats how I understand it

Like most muslims read the Qu'ran, if not all. It's part of their religion, rather like the Bible is integral for most Christians.
Heck, Muhammad, when he besieged Makkah and destroyed pagan idols, he spared the Christian and Jewish ones.
