Countries with universal healthcare still have grades of healthcare for the elite of their societies. Nobody really minds that.

What people mind is that there's a basic level of health-care - just a low-level standard of treatment - that most Americans can't access.

WHO says 'no one minds that'? I DO; I mind any sort of govt that creates/restricts elitism (which is what implemented-socialism always ends up doing)... Americans can actually accses almost any healthcare; you can go to most any doctor/hospital you want.... Paying for it would be the question.... And a big reason that it's sooo expensive, is because it's been artificially conditioned to become that way (much like the way College tuitions have become massively bloated).... Under full-blown 'social medicine', people would be RESTRICTED as to where/who they can go to ('when' would be more restricted too).... Btw, go to any nice big hospital area (Longwood Medical in Boston comes to mind); you'll see palatial opulence in the buildings, furnishings, spaces, grounds, landscaping, etc., etc.... That shows just how much MONEY is being made -- and none of those mentioned things has anything to do with helping any patient's health or providing treatment. ... There IS most certainly a 'Medical-Industrial Complex' in the USA... Doctors are also creating or helping perpetuate a 'physician shortage', by blocking or restricting entry into medical schools, preventing lower-level practioners from being able to perform functions (for example, PharmD pharmacists (* of which I myself am) are fully capable and qualified to be able to diagnosis/treat certain conditions -- but are prevented from doing so by the 'physician lobby', because they don't want anyone to cut into their business.... This keeps demand for M.D.s sky-high, and thus their pay also sky-high...

I'm in MA, Souffle brain, and I already knew about the demographics of M.D.s here, and where they were likely born.... I'm Doctor of Pharmacy, RPh, magna cum laude... Flame-on....

YOUR words.
Yes, you're a nurse who didn't have what it takes to be a doctor, hence why you're a nurse and not a doctor.

How's that souffle suit you?

Okay, since you 'screen captured' it, I'll say it again: You don't know what you're talking about.....
Where did you go to medical school, or pharmacy school, or nursing school? The notion that upper-caste people from India are coming to U.S. for medical school (supposedy because Indian medical schools are not as good, and because naturally that they'll make more money practicing in the U.S.), does not mean they are being 'imported' to fill a shortfall... Although, I suppose that native-born American students could be being displaced as a result.
The real questions you should ask are how many seats in medical schools exist, and why they are not being expanded, and why other qualified allied health professionals are not being allowed to fill physicians' roles more (indeed, some health professionals, like pharmacists have had their 'power' usurped over the decades; for example, 15 years ago, we were all told that pharmacists would gain 'provider status' with a few years -- but it still has not happened).
And, do you have some sort of problem with Native American Inuits in Alaska or something? Do you think people there live in caves?... Kinda racist, don't you think?
How dare you pass presumptive judgement to decide that people 'aren't good enough'.

Members of Congress already have health coverage beyond your mildest dreams, so perhaps your socialist complaints are a tad tardy.

Also, this restricted physician supply bs (why are they being imported from Asia and Africa if demand is being artificially pumped?), if you're not good enough to be one, you're not good enough to be one.

And yet, he still pushes for such "Socialist" ideals as taxing the 1% better, or forcing compankes to not be c**ts
