Octavia_Melody, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but what you posted almost sounds like something someone says just to make a point, perhaps without thinking about backing it up.

Aside from racists, which we still have, and who are still fighting diversity, please provide a few examples of how "Americans" (which is a pretty broad category) fought to stop diversity 75 years ago, which would be in the mid-1940's. I'll be open minded, since I'm no expert on American cultural mores from that time period.

I think if you did some research, you'd find that "ideology" and/or political affiliation have no causal relationship to racism, as well as what you're (perhaps inaccurately, perhaps not) referring to as diversity.

I think one problem with what you're trying to say is that the term "diversity" has a very specific social, cultural, and political meaning today, that it absolutely did not have 75 years ago. Yes, we can still attempt to apply today's meaning (excluding the actual word) to history, but I think it becomes more of a stretch to try to prove it. Just my $0.02
