Funny, I never realized every single voter in each state had exactly the same views and voted for the same candidates....

If you knew anything about the electoral college, you would realize that California and New York are DENSLY populated with democrats. More population=more representatives in the EC. These representatives in the states of New York, California, etc. control the whole country sometimes because yes, people who live in the big cities in California are brainwashed, so they think alike

I was answering the OP's claim that eliminating the EC would somehow let CA & NY overrule the rest of country. I don't see how that works, when eliminating the EC would allow the GOP minority to have their votes actually count.

Yeah I have no idea why you would say a minority would win without an electoral college

Sure, if I said that. I didn't.

You realize that Califoria Texas Florida and New York have the most electoral votes right. The difference between popular and electoral results is the winner take all system

California is a shithole, and as they say misery loves company. Eliminating the EV can only lead to one outcome, and this country deserves a better fate than that

They already do vote, how about making America less democratic to stop degenenerate sheep-people from being able to vote? Now that would be a wise action to take.

But seriously, with only 4 elections to date where the popular-vote winner lost the election (1824, 1876, 1888, 2000)... how does it matter?

Its irrelevant. They're not going to let them give their votes away. It doesn't matter what the state voted for.

Honestly, better California than Ohio, which is what we have now.

Actually I do, which is why I know it's not what we want for the rest of this country. It deserves better than this

Oh I’m not a city guy. I’m from SoCal, about half an hour southeast of San Bernardino. It’s a nice town, but I wish we had an ice cream parlor herw
