protectionist trade policies in the era of global economic manufacturing? does anybody here realize that 60% of Chinese products are American companies? or that many American companies rely on Chinese products for their goods? or that America exports as well,and that china can,will and HAS retaliated? that a trade deficit is not a bad thing,and is not a zero-sum game? that most electronic parts are made across the globe (but mainly in America) and assembled in china? does anybody here realize how interwoven this supply chain actually is?
I was of the opinion that both Venezuela and the current iran debacle were trumps biggest blunders thus far,but I am coming around to the dismal reality that this ill-thought trade war is his biggest.
this bumbling,stumbling and blundering bluster-fest is going to snowball into a disaster.this trade war is already causing a ripple effect,see:the recent farmer bailout.
sure,there will be some who benefit,but by a much larger margin,more americans will suffer than benefit.what does it serve to save a few hundred jobs to lose a hundred thousand?
now it is quite possible that trump hasn't revealed his play,and this may all be theater.only been a few weeks,but as it stands?
this is a disaster.
