That story is unbelievable. Although, if I understand things correctly, what they're really doing is covering up their standard racist practices, which are depicted in your meme. They're now going to hide behind the cover of an "adversity score". Criteria such as crime rate and poverty level in the student’s neighborhood dictate their score which lowers the height of the admission bar. Through their crystal balls they've determined that all people living in or near these areas have a disadvantage when it comes to aptitude. Really people, that's your logic? You think that adversity affects only those children over here and none over there? I see, so living in a certain neighborhood guarantees that children growing up there won't have a physically or mentally abusive parent? I suppose they won't be exposed to drugs and alcohol at an early age either, right?! They won't have to overcome any personal hurdles of adolescence? They won't ever worry about their parents losing a job and struggling to pay rent or put food on the table? What they say to that is, well they might, but we don’t care to know about it and their adversity is meaningless to us...because of their ummm…zip code.
