It still affects me though, because JK Rowling is English. And if there is any tv show across the world depicting a gay character, it is certainly my business.
Gay marriage is not fine. Think of a jigsaw. Some pieces fit, and other don't. Or maybe think of football (soccer). There are two goals. If you kick the ball into one, you score a goal. If you kick the ball into the other one, you score an own goal. In addition, all official religions are not accepting of religion. Surely that means gay marriage is offensive towards religion?
Gay marriage is immoral. Forcing it into a kids show is even more immoral. Imagine a five year old child watching Arthur. He sees one of the characters getting married to a man. The child must be confused. He must be wondering where the bride is. After the episode ends, he asks his parents "Why is Mr Ratburn marrying a man?".
Imagine you are in the parents' shoes. They wanted to protect him from inappropriate content. They thought Arthur was an educational program for all ages. They must be angry with themselves. They must think they failed as parents.
This is not their fault. This is the fault of those behind the scenes of Arthur. What were they thinking?! They have ruined the imagination of young children, who now need to understand that there are some people who are attracted the same gender. This must be a confusing time for the parents and the children.
Gay marriage needs to be stopped. The same goes for any gay relationships, and the changing of one's gender/sexuality. God assigned us one of two genders. We need to respect that.
