It is not his job to provide cover for a president who appears to have committed a large number of obstructive acts. His Oath of Office says he will serve the constitution, not the president. His job includes answering the legitimate questions from the people as posed by their legislators. Yet, this morning we see a letter to him from the president's lawyer instructing him on what to not do, that probably figured heavily in his decision to not testify as required by law.

Be assured Hon. William Barr will exert an indepth investigation on spygate.
He will do his duty and will not be stopped by those who decry a sitting President, contempt his supporters and try to overturn a democratic election.

You appear to have mistaken me for someone else. I respect the office of the Attorney General and the Justice Department. If they think there is enough evidence to investigate further, they should, no matter who they are investigating. As I said, talk is cheap. Professional prosecutors do not make public declarationa about who they are investigating until they already have all the evidence they think they need to start the process that leads to prosecution. These conspiracy theories are of no interest to me.

I'm going to refer you to the exact same argument we had just yesterday. You're chiming in on a discussion about what Barr is about to do. No matter how much you rip Mueller apart, Mueller has still scored indictments and asset seizures that Barr has yet to beat as Barr's score currently stands at absolute nil. We have now reduced the argument to the previous case; see yesterday's thread for more.

And as yesterday's thread lays bare, you had plenty of patience for Mueller. Surely, as you are an unbiased highly rational person, you will afford Barr the same courtesy.

Barr does indeed have a lengthy series of cases ahead of him and once he gets the ball rolling on that, it will indeed be in everyone's interest to let the system take the time to review everything rigorously and accurately to come to the best outcome for all of us.
