Yeah, of course! For the most part ANY religion is about pursuing your spiritual peace with the universe! But then communities organize it into institutions and things get political, it becomes inexorably woven into national identities, then someone shouts "pick up a gun and fight, it's us or them!" and before you know it you've got a militarized Zen monk fortress 20 miles North of Kyoto or whatever!
