i hate the government JUST PRINT MORE MONEY

The function of the government isn't to create wealth. Its to allow society to function in an orderly manner. This includes making sure that the weak are not victimized by bullies,because this creates social disruption that perverts order. The government is supposed to protect its citizens, not to aid & abet in the criminal activities of the wealthy. And for a party that supposedly advocates small government, I've never seen so many restrictive laws enacted as by Republican legislators! And every ONE of those laws are aimed at benefiting powerful industries by increasing profits,hampering competitors,& shafting workers!

For 137 years, before 1913, we had roads, an army, schools, and NO INCOME TAX, I wonder how we did that?

Tariffs, import, and federal excise taxes. The government was much smaller and didn't need as much money. The state and local governments took care of most things.

The government has become so bloated that tariffs and excise taxes can no longer support it.

When we were founded as a country, we were supposed to have a very limited federal government. Hence the name United STATES of America. The states were meant to govern the people with a VERY limited federal government that would handle things the states could not. Things like border control, maintaining a small military, and handling foreign relations. Everything else, the states took care of.

However, in 1912 we elected a semi-socialist President named Woodrow Wilison who felt a larger centralized government would be better. He ruined the country forever by expanding the federal government beyond what was stated in our constitution and initiated a federal income tax to pay for it. Unfortunately, before our Supreme Court could knock down his policies, WWI happened.

But do you think the massive expansion of the population of the US would be able to be provided by this? And, the past being the past, do you think you can change it.
Also, tariffs would have to be raised up heavily if able to be sustainable, which could be unfavourable to imports and exports.
