Cite evidence indicating that someone, anyone, climbed to that work area on the roof, no less, and set that fire.

I meant strict building codes to prevent these kind of accidents, for work safety and to protect property. They would be especially strict for world heritage buildings like this one.

There were workers in the building, and people in the building. It's more circumstantial at this point, yet even the media has acknowledged that there has been a spate of church vandalism in France before this happened. I'll post the links to those, but not now because past experience with you says you'll just go into denial.
