I am sure there are many tax professionals that could decipher it pro bono. We just need congress to get the info out there.

Oh so she will be right in that Congress members couldn't understand the returns. Thx.

Also, Congress has no legal right, to demand his tax returns. This issue will have to be decided in court.

Beyond that, what information are you hoping is in there?

Congress does have that right and yes it will be decided in the courts. Doesn't matter what is in there, good, bad, legal, illegal but the voters should know the facts. IMO

If they had a right, they wouldn't have to request they be surrendered. LOL

The difference is I am not running for public office. 45 is the 1st president since Nixon that hasn't released tax returns. HMMMM

There is no law that compels a Presidential Candidate to disclose their tax returns.

Anyone who votes for someone afraid to reveal their tax returns is mentally handicapped and/or gullible.

The leader of the USA shouldn't have offshore accounts for the simple reason to avoid paying taxes to the country they wish to lead. IMO It is immaterial if it is legal or not it is very distasteful. I will never vote for such a coward of a candidate if they can't reveal their tax returns.

Again, no law compels a candidate to release his returns.

As you said, the trend started with Nixon, so every President that preceded Nixon, to your mind was a coward, and yet, somehow the country thrived.

There would be "illegal" things in his returns?

Really? It's painfully obvious just how dense you are. You realize the IRS aka the Government already had examined his returns when Trump filed them. If there was something illegal in there, that would already be known.

Sure sure. Believe what you will. Trump supporters are so gullible. LOL

It is not us triggered by attempting to force people to show what is not required. It is you. What if Democrats walk into your bank and DEMAND to see every deposit you ever made or took out? Would you like it? Same thing. No cheating that Well I am not running for office. It is not a requirement to be President. Never will be either it will not be within the Bill of rights. We are protected from Government for a reason.

Just because the IRS accepted the returns doesn't mean everything was on the up and up.

Why are you so threatened with having a law that requires candidates for public office release their tax returns? New laws get passed all the time.

It is far easier now to avoid paying USA taxes via offshore businesses and/or offshore accounts than in pre Nixon days.

If you feel good about voting for someone that would cheat the country they want to lead out of their fair share of tax revenue.... so be it. I think you are crazy though.

OMG...so the IRS is now not capable of analyzing returns to catch criminal activity? Ok...

"Why are you so threatened with having a law that requires candidates for public office release their tax returns? New laws get passed all the time. "

Oh wow, look you kinda found the point but also missed it. No one has proposed a submitted a bill to make a law that candidates must disclose their returns. On the contrary, Democrats have foregone legislation and instead just demanded the returns. They have no legal basis to do this. If they want candidates to submit returns, pass a law.

"It is far easier now to avoid paying USA taxes via offshore businesses and/or offshore accounts than in pre Nixon days"

More nonsense. It's actually harder as there are more laws and security checks in place to prevent this. This is how see more and more people getting caught for tax evasion.

Keep being proud of voting for a president afraid of releasing his tax returns.
Silly silly silly.

It is easier to have offshore accounts and offshore businesses due to the global economy that exists today vs in Nixon days.

You assume the IRS is infallible in determining the legality of a tax return. And assume 45 has paid his fair share.

Presidents who don't disclose their tax returns are cowards and preying on the people stupid enough to take their word. Trust but verify

What delusions?
You display all the signs of being proud of voting for 45.
2 ups, 6y
Delusion: it's easier to avoid paying taxes today than it was 40 years ago.

Delusion: illegal things in Trump's return.

Delusion: presidents who didn't disclose their returns are cowards.

It is a double edged sword. If they can release his nothing is protected. Every person in this country has the right to protect their personal information. It is not public unless you allow it to be. That is how laws work to protect people. You cannot make a law FORCING people to show personal data. You cannot be filmed and put on tv without your permission either. Same thing. Personal protection. There is NO law saying it has to happen. Their NEVER will be that law because it would violate the Bill of Rights. It was done that way to protect you as a citizen FROM THE GOVERNMENT. On purpose.
2 ups, 6y
In this instance I believe you could pass a law where candidates are compelled to release their tax returns . As you are running to enter public life, you no longer retain certain rights to privacy. This is already acknowledged in the legal system.

Nixon had to pay 400k in back taxes. Today that 400k would be almost 3 million.

The Clinton's had to pay more in taxes for underreporting income from their Whitewater deal.

You are silly for voting for any public office candidate that refuses to release their tax returns. More so if you are "proud" for voting for that person.
