How the Democrats will hand 2020 to the GOP

Are they trying to throw the election? Trump is not popular and only got in because no one wanted Hillary. The odds of winning against Trump are enormously in their favor. I think we're talking like Reagan defeating Mondale here, and all they have to do is not shoot themselves in the foot. Force the Republicans to put up someone else, and you throw away years of built up advantage. I mean, what the hell are they thinking?

Happens to me, too!

short version:

democrats are experiencing an ideological civil war.
the old guard is doing it's best to retain it's power and influence,but most of all ,that tasty corporate money,whilst the new,insurgent democrats are pushing from an ideological stance.

so the old guard along with the DNC and the DCCC are aggressively pushing back with primaries and de-funding.this is normal.the tea party forced the republicans to do this over 10 years ago.

but if the democrats cannot emerge with a cohesive message and ideology,and continue down the "lesser of two evils" weak-ass messaging,and continue to ignore the past 3 years of:corruption,lies and malfeasance.

they are done...finished.

and trump is fairly popular considering.45% on average is nothing to sneeze at.
as long as the economy remains relatively stable,and the democrats continue to implode from within.

if I had to call it right now?
trump will win.

Hadn't thought about them splintering at that level. But I think you're right, - as it stand now, they're in trouble.
