I find it interesting when I see a self-identified Christian attempt to rationalize their way out of many moral conundrums due to US policy.
but here is the simple,and unequivocal truth.
there IS such a thing as elementary morality,and the morality of Christ is pretty specific.
WE,as a nation of citizens,are complicit.
we are complicit in the Yemeni genocide being perpetrated by Saudi arabia,but using US military weaponry.
we are complicit when the US engages in pre-emptive wars,that destroys a countries infrastructure,schools,roads,government and create huge waves of desperate refugees.
we are complicit when our state department makes a foreign countries economy "scream" to make them more pliant to US interests,whilst immiserating the most vulnerable and least able to defend themselves.
we are complicit when we give tax breaks to the wealthy and allow our veterans to languish in homelessness,PTSD and suicide.
so this meme,while uncomfortable,is actually pointing to a fairly strong point that any Christian has to face,if they were being truly honest.
be honest.
and stop making excuses.
