REALLY- horrified me! I came from a family in which mothers were adored,& children loved. What I saw of my father's family filled me with horror & pity,for despite their old money wealth,they were terribly poor! He loved money more than people, and of course paying child support for his one child was not a priority for him. It took me years to understand the strangely cold Protestant dynamic of his family & that of my cousins.My Mom's family hasn't had wealth since the crash of '29,but we never lost our true wealth-the knowledge of what really matters. Its not money that matters most,and not the faces on currency that we call to mind in our last moments on Earth!
