Maybe in their minds it's true but I don't question what I saw and heard when all I have to do is play the clip.

Both parents and my only sibling were/are narcissists. The part that drives me crazy is that they actually think you're stupid for not recognizing their superiority or if you know all their secrets.

I don't do narcissists.

they become more interested in how they "feel" rather than examine how things "are".

I have found that the most human,and genuine people tend to be those who have endured incredible trauma and have suffered.these are the people who have the most empathy,compassion and are the first to forgive.

those who have led a relatively trauma-free life,tend to believe that everything they have achieved was solely due to their own decisions and agency.

as if they didn't live in a society.

one of the ironic things,and I always laugh when they engage in this way,is that narcissists will always accuse YOU of being narcissistic.

the cognitive dissonance is funny,and incredible sad at the same time.

I deleted so much before I posted that comment. Just about exactly what you said. My brother was the first born male on my mom's side. He was God! He was always told how great and important he was while I was abused and told I was of no value. Literally. I had to be kept in my place. Especially since I was the only one telling everyone all the crap their god was doing. He'd call me lazy for refusing to go get something for him that he was too lazy to get himself! Mom created competition between us. I spent a lifetime doing everything better than he did just to prove he sucked. Lol. She never saw it. He treated her like garbage but she still worshipped him.

I used to count how many times mom would use the words I, me and mine when she'd talk, which she did a lot of. Every sentence was about her. Dad just did whatever he wanted. Used whomever he wanted and never answered to anyone.

The weird part for me was watching them realize the other didn't care anymore about them than they cared about the other. I was the only black sheep that was worthless, that was a given. But, now and again they'd turn on each other. I'd sit back and watch their world's implode. They honestly think everyone sees them the same way they see themselves. Mom would tell a story about a memory from the past about how great she was. I'd tell her what really happened. She would actually be confused. She did not remember anything she did as abuse. For a moment there'd be regret in her eyes. Then within minutes she'd tell the story her way anyway. None of them could ever handle being a human being that makes mistakes.

My brother still brags that he's never read a book but he knows EVERYTHING and he's done everything bigger, badder and better than anyone else that has ever been born or will ever be born.

He was shit and I called him on it every single day. I left two weeks after I turned 18. I always stayed at least two states away and refused to get a phone. I've seen my brother once in the last 17 years. I never was able to let go of my mom though. When our mother died I lived 14 hours away. He lived 3 hours away. I was with her and he finally showed up and told the doctor to hurry it along. He paid a crooked lawyer to change mom's will WHILE she was dying. He had money to make. He didn't take anything from her home. Not one thing.

Now you know why I don't do Trump. Lol. I can see his narcissism a mile away.

If we're all connected now and all have access to all the same information ... How does it still work? Everyone should be able to see it but millions of people don't. It confuses the daylights out of me. Cults always confused me too. How can anyone just blindly believe anyone else without research? I don't believe doctors without research, I'm certainly not going to believe anyone that believes they're better than everyone else.

but we are humans,just one step above monkeys flinging poop at each other.

we can be so noble and just,loving and caring.
but we can also be vulgar,selfish and petty.

when it comes to information,we tend to congregate to the corners of the information world that appeal to our own biases and prejudices.creating tiny echo chambers of confirmation bias.

and then you have the dunning kruger effect,which only amplifies ignorance and cognitive dissonance.

and the schism of separation only grows wider.

you would think,with the internet and access to so much information,that we would be more fluid in our understandings,but we are witnessing a solidifying of more extreme,and rigid ideologies.

which is why I keep hammering the point that we need each other more than ever,because when people reside in their own bubble of biases,and echo chambers.they become easier to manipulate and control.

When I got off of Facebook I ran in here. That's when I noticed all the love for trump and all the hate for demoncrats. I'm an independent. Voted for more republicans than democrats. I voted for Hillary because she was running against trump not because she was the best. I'd have voted for PeeWee Herman and Pauly Shore over Trump and Pence. Once I noticed all the hate and disinformation in here it was automatic for me to make anti-trump memes. I don't mind a good discussion about trump and I'll admit he has actually done some good but I won't discuss him with anyone that won't admit he's human and has faults. That, to me, is a troll. That's my brother. There's no give and take.

(you'll have to forgive me for all the babbling. I want to thank you too. My father moved to Cali a year ago and two weeks ago he told me they diagnosed dementia and then I couldn't reach him. I was half panicked and you kept my mind occupied. For that I thank you. Sometimes we help people without even knowing. I did reach him today and I'm going to roadtrip out there. 60 hours of driving. I'm actually looking forward to it now that I don't have to panic drive. Lol. Anyway...thank you and I apologise in advance if I jump you later on. Lol)
