cult of personality has nothing to do with glory,but everything to do with appeals to emotion,charged rhetoric and tugging at our lizard brains.
it suppresses all critical thought and inflates the mob mentality groupthink.
we saw it during the Obama years,and people attached their entire political philosophy onto a slogan "hope and change",and they got neither hope,nor change.
now I get to wtiness the new sloganisms "make America great again",which is such a cynical manipulation of the tribe mind,but just like "hope and change",it is very effective.
and I get to sit on the sidelines and watch my entire country trainwreck in slow motion.
and people wonder why my biggest battle is with cynicism.
that is the main reason I volunteer so much,to give me something to be hopeful for.
