First it was reposts now it's upvote begging clogging up the top spots. We're starting to look like Hollywood around here lately

I don't mind the clever ones, but the just plain begging is ignored. Or in other words, I'm here for entertainment and if you can beg for upvotes in a way that entertains, then I'm happy to upvote.

I think every one of yours has made the front page lately.
Mine keep getting buried by all the crap votes.

The front page goes through phases. And then you get new memers who like different kinds of memes so then mine don’t get upvotes again.

But it depends on your goal. Do you just want to hit the front page? Or do you want to have fun?

It is ridiculous for dumb stuff to hit the front page, but all you can is downvote or keep scrolling. :-)

I didn't use to downvote anything unless it was actually offenseive, so maybe like one every couple of weeks.

I downvote if they’ve copy and pasted exactly what’s already on the front page. Also if I’ve seen the meme on this site a million times. I like original stuff and am generous with my upvotes for those.

I'm with you on that one. I originally came on here because I had an idea that I had to get out of my head.
I stayed because there was a lot of really funny original stuff (and the people, of course).
There have been a lot of straight up reposts or some that, like you said, I've seen dozens of times already.

And it isn't just about the upvote begging that's bugging me. It's the users (DJFox) who lie about their begging for upvotes when confronted about it.

That one post got a downvote from me, although it's still in the #1 spot, so I guess joke's on me

I also downvoted it. I rarely downvote memes, but he's out there lying about it being a beg for upvotes meme and now he's going on other user's memes and talking about how his meme will be the highest upvoted meme on Imgflip.

Like I said, it wouldn't bother me nearly as much if he actually told the truth and then didn't ask everyone to spam other user's memes by linking his meme to their memes. I told him if they did they, they'd be reported. I don't mind users doing that if they are legitimately trying to show off their good memes they created, but not this kind of stuff.

I've downvoted more stuff recently than I ever have. I used to just roll my eyes and move on. But there has been so much of it lately it's almost not worth coming on.
I don't particularly like putting links to my own stuff in other people's streams either unless it's related to what we're talking about or I was having somebody help me with one. That hasn't been so bad since ILoveMarvel got chased out.
I'm actually more likely to post a link to somebody else's post
