Neither solution works. Prostitution in theory should be no different from any other job or business arrangement. The problem with prostitution is that there is almost always an element of coercion, whether it is trafficking, organized crime or drug motivated. Even the legalized brothels of Nevada have reports being predatory to the workers. At the same time, completely outlawing sex outside of marriage or mandating that it only occur as such because God or whoever demands it, eliminating commercial sex trades entirely is likely trying to stop rain. Neither extreme is realistic. That doesn't mean a middle ground can't be found.
