You're both right.
The Blair government expanded a LOT of social programs in a way that hadn't been done since the 1940's and they should have been remembered for that.
Then half way through, they flip flopped and ditched most of their pro-worker issues. Between that and the Iraq War, it forever tarnished their image and made people go "well, if they're going to be Tory Lite, we may as well go full Tory."
It's sad, and I DO think it's warranted, but it is also important to highlight that back when their heart was in the right place, Blair's programs were very successful.
