There's always examples of everything. Small percentages and rare instances don't define things.

Meh to you

Except it wasn't a small percentage.

Small enough that republicans were able to change slavery and civil rights despite the few you want to focus your attention on.

All you're doing is hate mongering. Go f**k yourself.

You need to learn actual facts.
Your propaganda is way too fake.
0 ups, 5y
There is no propaganda.

I guess the democrats were the champions of the civil war and civil rights. Is that it?

Skip the "guess" and read up on some actual facts.

Why don't you take your own advice?

I did say something earlier - to Grind, NOT you.

See, my reply to him was a reply to him. That's why you got no notifications of replies from me because none were from me to you.

Oh, and apology accepted.

You may now tell Grind what you told me.
1 up, 5y
I didn't really apologize, but fine. Also, it's clear to me at Grind is too self-absorbed to listen to reason.

Why do you have to prove your name is an accurate description of yourself?
My reply was to Grind in DEFENSE of what YOU said, stupid.

The upvotes just removed now were from me because I was in agreement with what you had previously said.
0 ups, 5y
You could've said something earlier.

And by the way, my username is irrelevant to the conversation.
0 ups, 5y
And for the record, I'm not the stupid one.

Grindbot does 'believe' that McCain feigned cancer and committed suicide because Trump ordered him to as punishment for not voting as he wished when McCain left treatment for said cancer to come to DC to vote against killing the ACA.

No, I'm pointing out how stupid Mr Stupid is for believing that democrats weren't violent in their opposition to civil rights.

Nothing's changed. They're still super violent.

All I'd have to do is go to Austin and wear a MAGA hat.

The Republican Party still wasn't completely against slavery. If anything, it was mostly a publicity thing. The Republican Party still approved of slavery and racism despite what films and books wanna tell us.

No I'm not. I'm not "hatemongering" at all.

I wonder how the voting record between Dems and GOP on abolishing it was? I wonder if there was a way to look it up?
0 ups, 5y,

Well the country wasn't completely against either.

actually the North was against it, I am from PA and my state never had slavery. William Penn (hence Pennsylvania) was a Quaker and they forbade it . The Term "Underground Railroad stops" basically meant a Quaker meeting house.

The Civil War wasn't meant to eradicate slavery.

The North approved of slavery, just not as much as the South.

actually no. Just NY and NJ had it till 1804 when it was abolished totally in the north..PA never had it.

Except there were still states in the North that had slavery.

Yes and No. ppl were aloud to own "slaves" in some cases including freed men who would purchase family members. Many abolitionist purchased "slaves" or claimed Runaways as "slaves" for the sole purpose of keeping them from being sent back to the south. Thaddeus Stevens i do believe was one. My best friends uncle was the caretaker of one of the "Quaker" graveyards and meeting houses on RT 252 in Newtown square Pennsylvania. He knew more about it than anyone, sadly he died abt a yr ago.
