I love that picture -- but it's a staged photograph... although, of course, lions were filmed for MGM -- but just a bit differently .... (Problems: 35mm movie camera is too close for a 'portrait' perspective of the lion; there is no sound-blimp on the LOUD film camera; and the micrphone is too close to the camera (which then could not have avoided recording the camera noise).... So the camera would have been further back, with a long lens, in a 'blimp' or booth; the microphone would almost surely have been on a boom from above (for control); and the sound guy would have no reason to be sitting right there)
