Then maybe the problem here is you don't know what "murder" means because a valid reason absolutely does change everything.

Their entire power structure comes crashing down once they start admitting their internal inconsistencies. It's one of the reasons they have so much trouble connecting their campaigns with election results outside their own bubble.

I suspect that their ability to arbitrate who deserves to live and who doesn't will be the last thing they ever let go of.
