They sure are tasty! I looked it up - because I'm like that - deer are partially color blind. They can't really tell orange from red or green from red. They are very good at detection UV that is reflected by certain materials. Further, science, words, tl;dr, that's where I stopped caring.

Now I gotta go wash my eyes.

Hide from the deer but not from other hunters

They see solid colors, but not in true color as we see them, so the orange stands out as a solid object but they can't see the brightness of it; whereas the camouflage breaks up our outline. They're more sensitive to movement and out of place structures
