There seem to be those, especially on my job, who cannot accept reality X because it conflicts with theory Y, and they have research to "back it up." I'm really fed up with these "Research is God" types.
Well, what good is science if it contradicts reality? It's good to research things and it's fun to go rampant with an absurd theory but in the end if it doesn't line up with reality it's just not useful... unless you're writing a fantasy novel.
