They probably have so much available medical care and routine checkups that any sign of it gets caught immediately, where as the typical person often has it in their system for months, sometimes years and it only gets found as a result of major symptoms emerging.
Generally, cancer becomes more fatal the longer it goes untreated, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that there may be cures for some of the more common cancers
(people often don't realise that different cancers have different treatments so you would need upto several dozen types of cures, rather than just one theoretical pill etc etc)
