But it is a lot to do. It's a lot of catching up when you have nothing but originals, but at the same time at least we aren't having to fix somebody's shoddy work.
Our old house was built in 1940, but had some updates: newer windows, electrical panel, and the kitchen was fairly new. Overall in decent shape. We redid the living room and spent a lot of time making the yards nice (they were pretty thrashed when we moved in)
We wound up needing to put a new roof on when we sold it
