You love to single us Christians out, don't you? I didn't see any conservative Christians in Australia doing anything like what those LBGT supporters did. I'm a Christian and oppose gay marriage but I have gay relative that I love even though I disagree with what they do (I respect that it's their choice).

Even the Westboro Baptist Church hasn't gone as far as the people described here; have the Westboro Baptist Church physically assaulted gay people? How many, if any, gay people have members of the Westboro Baptist church killed?

I see why you referenced Christians here, and everything I mentioned happened in Australia

You see my point about the WBC, as bad as they are there's much worse out there. Also, I never meant to imply that gay people had attacked the Westboro Baptist church. Also, not every gay person killed in the US for being gay was done in the name of Christianity.

A Muslim murdered numerous gay people and you try to turn that and use that against Christians, how dare you! That is an insult to the greater number of Christians - including myself - horrified by the attack and an insult to the people murdered by that terrorist, using their deaths to push your agenda. You really need to check your prejudice.

Ah, quote-mining; the fallacious tactic of taking quotes out of context in order to make them seemingly agree with the quote miner's viewpoint or to make the comments of an opponent seem more extreme or hold positions they don't in order to make their positions easier to refute or demonize.

The fact that you even brought that up at all is disgraceful. "Let's stand on the graves of terrorist victims to justify my prejudice!" You didn't even deny it; don't now, the cat's out of the bag.

I'm sure there were people who didn't like gay people of all beliefs - or lack thereof if you want to call atheists that - who would've reacted positively to the Orlando shooting.

What you did would be like me bringing up some anti-Semitic rhetoric (hypothetically speaking; I'm no anti-Semite) to try and insinuate something bad about some Jewish people in response to Devin Kelley's anti-religious Sutherland Springs church shooting.

When you took a few sentences from my posts, put them in quotation remarks and responded to them while ignoring the rest.

I suppose I could find some if I looked, but I'm not going to stoop to your level; being so desperate to justify a prejudice, that you take an atrocity done by one group and try and use reactions to it to demonize another by association; even for the association fallacy this is egregious.

I was talking about the second part of the definition I gave; "...or to make the comments of an opponent seem more extreme or hold positions they don't in order to make their positions easier to refute or demonize." That's the kind of quote-mining I was talking about. I could also cite to you another very common example of quote-mining - anti-religious critics quote-mining the Old Testament. I think you got your example from the poorly-named website Rational Wiki (or Rationalizer's Wiki as I like to call it - rationalize here meaning, as per one of its dictionary definitions, "attempt to explain or justify (behavior or an attitude) with logical reasons, even if these are not appropriate.").

It sounds like you were trying to imply it (at least to yourself). I also pointed out why bringing it up at all was a bad idea; this could be leveled at people of any belief or unbelief, it's disrespectful to the people who died and it's using an action done by someone from one group to attack people of another group and associate the people who approved with the person who did it - therefore, the association fallacy.
