The meme is not funny in any situation. People are eating into savings and/or running up credit card debt because of this. Assuming they have those resources...if they didn't have savings and already had maxed out cards, they're screwed. NOT FUNNY.

Then Schumer shouldn't have shut it down just to prove he doesn't want security for Americans.

Schumer doesn't want to spend billions on something that won't provide any more security than the current system, which is what experts (literally the people who design and build border walls for a living) are saying. You can disagree all you like with them, cool, but don't categorize blocking the wall as not wanting border security.

If you put a quarter of the money he's asking for into the existing system, hiring and equipping more ICE agents, more judges, and more social workers to process undocumented immigrants faster, you'd get a better result than this ridiculous wall.

You are insane if you don't think walls work. If they didn't, would this many countries have them?

Great list, thanks. Noticed that the US/Mexico wall is 930 km - the border is 3,145 km long, so that's interesting.

Most of the nations on this list have short walls that cover cities that lie directly on the border, which is the only situation where a physical wall is the best option. We have several of those on the US/Mexico border, which will not be going anywhere.

Also noticed that the other nations on the upper end of the list are either frequently at war, or feel the need to be constantly protected against military invasion. This is not a concern along our southern border.

Also funny you use as an argument the countries on the list are "either frequently at war, or feel the need to be constantly protected against military invasion"
That pretty much says right there that walls work.

Yes. Against an invading army.

So, you don't consider over 10 million f**king people coming into your country an invasion?
0 ups, 6y,

No, I don't. Invading armies don't come to join the country they're invading.

They aren't coming to join. They are coming to skim off what they can get. They are economic invaders.

This argument has been made about every large group of immigrants in the history of our country. I'm not buying it.

False equivalence.

"coming to skim off what they can get" is a rude way of saying "looking for a better life for themselves", and the same slurs were made about Serbian asylum seekers in the 90's. Last I checked Serbian crime rates are no different than any other group, and they're a functioning part of our society.

No, it's an appropriate way of saying STEALING what they have no rights to have. Want to come in legally, thru the proper channels, fine, otherwise you should be treated as an alien invader and shot.

All schumer wants is to score political points at the expense of American's security.

Again, disagree if you like about whether the wall will work better than the current system. You're framing Schumer's goal wrong - he's not sacrificing security, he's requiring a more effective (both from a security and cost perspective) strategy than a physical wall. He's pushing for security that actually works.

Walls work, and I dont think Schumer cares about anything but Schumer and his "status"
