Yeah - I've been trying to avoid politics if I can - since it just results in TOS violating harrassment {ahem, cough, cough}, and it certainly wins me few friends, on tha 'flip...

And yes - I qualify as a world-class athlete (and perhaps even sports-betting handicapper) in a very narrow sense - so I've been working in the "Sports" category, to the extent that conscience will allow me the benefit, of that escapism/bread n' circvses type of entertainment.

I grew up a Rams fan in LA... Then they moved to Anaheim - and I was almost az butthurt as the SD fans - a few years back... I hope that another trip to the Super Bowl - will help the recent wounds heal...

Some people here threw a fit when they left; there were people taking their Chargers gear and dumping it in a big pile in the stadium parking lot. I've always kind of been indefferent about the whole Chargers moving deal. Moving a mediocre team 100 miles isn't going to suddenly make them good. It's nice to see them actually have a winning season again for once. I'm interested to see how they do in the playoffs; they have a general tendency to shoot themselves in the foot, though

In fact - moving them to a MAJOR TV market - with direct access to Hollywood - is EXACTLY what made them good. They couldn't afford to stay in SD... sad as that is to say.

I was a big fan of "the Chargers Station" on AM radio - even from up here in LA. So I literally HEARD the carnage and gnashing of teeth... It sucked... Hearing Hank Bauer talk about not being a fan anymore... Fans talking about rooting for the RAIDERS - that's just SACRILEGE.

I had been suggesting that they should become a REGIONAL team - like The Patriots... (Go ahead - tell me what city they play for...) Because almost half of their fanbase was in Orange County - and the Inland Empire. I sent texts and emails to the local hosts - and Jim Rome's "Jungle" - for more than a year, before they made their decision... I told them how to solve ALL of their problems... How about the "Southern California Chargers"? It would have minimized the butthurt. They could have played 1/2 their games at Jack Murphy - and 1/2 in Carson - at least until their new home was built in Inglewood (Green Bay has two stadiums - so there's a precedent ... But...Nobody listenz to Turtle...

This year - I expect them to do well in the playoffs. They have 0 homefield advantage in Carson... So they've been playing better on the road, anyway. The SHOULD have beaten Baltimore 2 weeks ago... They'll het a good shot at redemption next Sunday. They've already beaten the Chiefs in KC once thos year... So a SUPERBOWL should be the Goal.

Hank Bauer is a piece of shit, always has been. I like the idea of thr southern cali chargers, it works. Honestly, Ibthink, Spanos had been trying to move to LA for decades, he just finally got a good reason.
I would love to see the Chargers actually make it to the superbowl again and maybe this time not get their asses handed to them.
