You know, times in JFK's time are different than they are now, and talking about somebody who died before I was born sounds easy, but it makes it hard to judge his politics. Since JFK was killed for what he stood for, I don't know how the people of his time spoke about him, back in his own time. Yes, his death shocked the world, but was that because of his popularity or the way how it happened?
I've seen news about people who were very very controversial, and to a certain extend even hated, but the news about their deaths were still shocking, as the people I'm talking about were just killed straight in the open where everyone could see it, and in JFK's case it even happened while there was a big audience around him.
Now I'm not from the U.S. but we do have liberals in my country as well, and when I hear them talk I reckon they are a bit taken hostage by our variant of Donald Trump fearing the voters if they don't try to be as extreme as he is but on a more polite tone. When I hear U.S. politicians talk, I also wonder if that is their honest opinion or just an attempt to win votes, or to prevent to lose them. This actually goes for Democrats and Republicans alike, lately. Then again, when I hear the debates in the House of Commons in the U.K. about the Brexit I wonder the same thing. I guess it's a world-wide problem. Hence this meme (

I guess all politicians, left and right, conservative and progressive, have lost a bit of eye on their primary task. But that's what I think.
