Anyone who thinks having 1 party that controls the house senate and Whitehouse is a good thing just doesn't know history very well.
When a side, any side, does not have to compromise it usually ends poorly for the general public.
History folks not ideology.

Granted, one party in power creates a situation where no compromise is necessary. But the political gridlock of the last 20-25 years has made compromise impossible. Immigration is not a new issue. Reform has been necessary for decades and both sides have known it. But even with Trump creating a border crisis, they still haven't acted.

We the people put them in office.

I am pretty happy with grid lock when a democrat is in the whitehouse and the republicans own the senate.
The stock market, which is a damn good barometer for the economy, does way better with democrats in the whitehouse. Take the last 28 yrs of Democrat presidents and the last 28 yrs of Republican presidents (excluding Trump since his term isn't over yet) and you would have 9 times more money with the Democrat in the whitehouse.
Facts, easily verified FACTS.
The republicans have done a great job scamming the general public into thinking they are good for the economy or stock market or gdp growth. Party for business. yeah right.

That the fact some things work for you and some things do not, doesn't create an objective truth. I am not rich, but my retirement account has skyrocketed since Trump has been in office, even with the recent stock market turmoil. That doesn't mean that what has been good for me is good for everyone. Govt shutdowns have been going on since the 1990s. It's pretty sad that our leaders (both sides) are so terrible at compromise, but even worse, they were hired by the people. Our representative government is a representation of our population, and it doesn't reflect well.

Stock markets perform better with Democrats in the Whitehouse. Objective truth.
Here is a chart showing the stock market returns for Obama vs Trump for the same number of days in office, so the trend continues even with Trump.
This chart shows major indices for Large,Medium, and Small companies and is more indicative than your own personal returns.

Trump returns are in pencil. I know the chart is hard to read Obama's figures but trust me they are way better. I could post a better pic or a link if you doubt the figures.

I don't doubt your figures. The Trump years have been very good for my personal finances, whereas the Obama years were like walking through the desert with nothing but a sawdust popsicle. Fortunately, there is oscillation in our economy so that no one is always on the bottom. Immigration, infrastructure, national debt, balanced budgets - these are things that suffer with congressional gridlock. No one group is responsible, unless it's the voters.

Here is a better comparison pic.
The etf's used are dia, spy, mdy, sly which are all major market indices including large, mid, and small companies.
I am not doubting you personally have done better with Trump than with Obama but these charts are more indicative than one's personal returns.

Obama's S&P500 returns were better than any Republican president all the way back to Nixon. FACTS

Nope, it's the delusional dems who would sacrifice border security to spite Trump.

I used to like to fight alot, farm boys are like that. Granted its bin a few years since my last fight, I still like to mix it up, especially my disdain for bullies such as yourself, and hey, you may win, but thats ok too, thats what scrapping all about, I stand up, no dishonour in that.

dishonour noun [ U ] UK US dishonor uk ? /d??s?n.? r/ us ? /d??s??.n?/ a feeling of embarrassment and loss of people's respect, or a situation in which you experience this: Some of the leaders of the coup took their lives rather than face dishonour. It was no dishonour to be beaten by such a strong opponent. The french Canadian spelling also, we use it in colour, neighbour etc. Get over yourself prick.

Exactly, I really don't give a shit. I just think its moronic for a small group of slow wits there to prop up an ego of someone who will forget you the moment hes out of office.

Again, since he is not your president, why do you think we care about your views on Trump?
[deleted]
4 ups, 6y
I don't know if you know this or not, but the US has always bin regarded as leaders of the free world, and being so closely connected, what happens stateside makes an impact on us and the rest of the world. Take a look at the Huawei exec we arrested for YOU F**KERS last week, now China has 3 of our citezens in custody and a whole big shit show. So yes, when you get a petulant spoiled manchild ruining the country, I'll say the f**k I want. Did I say running or ruining, meh, no matter, same thing.

Yes we are the leader of the free world, and we will elect the person, not you or anybody in any other country. The thought of who is best for the free world should never be an option, it’s who is best for our country, and in the 2016 election we decided that was Trump
