To keep the plant open. GM is hurting the economy by doing this. Look at the unionized people losing their jobs. That's not the only problem, GM is violating the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms by closing the factory before the union's contract is up in 2020.
But it's fine for the gov't to subsidize corporations setting up shop overseas, or your idol Trump & family utilizing the Oval Office to cut corp deals with foreign countries?
I haven't heard much of this, but since when is it in the governments job description to help failing companies? A mom and pop store doesn't get bail outs so why should a corporation? If the government never handed out bail outs we might actually have better businesses to replace these giant corporate monsters and banks. Just a thought.
