You have to understand that every language has slang and dialects. Americans wouldn't understand a lot of British slang or references to British politics.
Even just in the U.S. a lot of things are limited to one of the 50 states. There are memes that only someone who lives in Texas would understand, or only someone from New York.
And because the U.S. has a population over 300 million, slang and cultural reference change rapidly. Plus, there are a lot of generational differences. I'm 68 and I don't understand the references to Fortnite, or to rappers, etc. People under the age of 25 wouldn't understand MOST of the political memes.
