As a surveyor, I can tell you that the markers placed on our coasts last century to mark sea level are still giving the same readings as when they were set, give or take a 1/10th of a foot. They were set in the 50's. Water levels aren't rising. Erosion is taking place and some tides are slowly changing because of the Earth's gradually changing axis, but water levels are pretty stagnant.
