Yeah, I get you are probably of the libertarian don't tax me it's like robbery at gun point variety. Uh, hate to tell you this but you're already being taxed. Except instead of going for things like education, the environment, infrastructure, and people in need it is mostly going to make Fat Cats even fatter. At least with DD it will not be perpetuate war, rampant cronyism, and the degradation of the environment that puts our very survival as a species at risk. These are not things libertarianism is going to cure.

BTW nice user name. Watched my share f My Little Pony

Ok so somehow the mob is going to be worse than the corporate shills who already rule us??? It's not like it's either the mob or some benevolent interest. Besides the Direct Democracy would have constitution that would bar the worse potential abuses. Also I advocate for a hybrid Direct Democracy and a Epistocracy. It's not some simple minded plan. It certainly would be worlds better than what we have now and may indeed be necessary to save us from the extinction/culling cliff we are careening towards now.

Trumpism or Direct Democracy, I'll take Direct Democracy any day of the week. Trump has not drained the swamp one bit but added to it his own creatures. He's given big business more than the could have ever dreamed of. He is crony capitalism personified. I trust the people over his ilk any day of the week. Besides if Direct Democracy was such a failure why has western society striven to emulate the ancient Greeks who they claim to laud, at least nowadays in veneer.

First off Greece didn't have DD. Greece had a collection of city states in which one of them was the most famous for Democracy Athens. Athens had a fail which I know about due to men's dreams of war and riches and a key defection. The women, slaves, etc, were not voting. Plus I seriously doubt they had any constitution to bar the excesses of the voting majority.

Regardless I am not arguing Politicians should have more power. I'm arguing why there should not be politicians period. We could do way better without them. Granted it does not guarantee a perfect society. That we still have to strive for ourselves.

Which is it that I'm advocating anarchy or totalitarianism? Sounds contradictory to me too. Maybe you need to ask more questions instead of making assumptions and then projecting them. Government will still exist with a DD, except the people will be controlling it. The officials will be more like administrators doing their jobs and less like corrupt politicians lining their pockets. Sounds good to me.

Actually they are contradictory, though you claim they are correlative in that one follows the other. No matter what I'm not advocating for both. To say otherwise is not being honest and projects intention upon me that is simply not true.

As for people voting on all the issues that come up that is exactly what I'm advocating. Now there are many ways to go about this. Either people bother themselves to vote on the issues they really care about and or a lesser amount of passionate voters educate themselves and vote, or we have our own hybrid version of a Direct Democracy and a espistocracy. Personally I favor this one in that everyone will get a chance to be represented, but they will have time to do so when the chance comes which will also come with the proper education. Think jury duty for voting. I think this would be a most excellent system.

Direct democracy is a bad joke. Only a total fool would believe people en masse are intelligent and informed enough in all the myriad disciplines to know the correct choices in a maddeningly number of subjects from soy futures to which is a better fit both economically and militarily 1 F35 or 4 F14s

The process of DD is educationally parabolic

Yes, Imagine watching society collapse completely in a few short years as everyone votes themselves Bread & Circuses.

We already have bread and circus. It's what keeps the restless natives in check from noticing the puppetry of the Oligarchy.
