Privilege and disadvantage are both ways of looking at the ineqality in society. The problem is the shift of looking at inequality in terms of privilege rather than disadvantage. When you fight ineqality by fighting disadvantages, you are trying to lift people up, when you fight privilege, you are trying bring people down.
For instance, examples I have been given of my privilege is that I come from a stable two parent household and that I lived in a low violence neighborhood. If you are fighting my privilege, you are fighting stable households and safe neighborhoods?
You should be fighting the disadvantages of unstable households and violent neighborhoods.

It means that racial assumptions are made in medicine that deliver lower standard of care to people of color.
It means that (not so much today) film was designed to capture white flesh tones, no consideration given to black flesh tones.
It means that, as a white person, you are likely to have a shorter prison term than black persons.
It means that people assume less often that you are a thug and dangerous.
It means that when there is an economic recession, you will in general lose less of your wealth than black folks.
It means that few, if any, people are thinking of removing you from their country in order to make it a better country.
It means white persons are over represented in the media, especially Hollywood.
It means if you are poor, you are far less likely to live in a neighborhood or larger area which is majority or completely poor.
It means you are less likely to be shot without valid justification during encounters with police.
It means white people are more likely to be born into conditions that make it easier to succeed and get ahead in life.
It means that many teachers will expect more from white students and assume a lower standard of achievement is normal for black students.
It means that laws like Exact Match are less likely to affect you based on your name.
It probably means that once arrested, guilty or not, you are likely to face a tough decision to plead guilty and go home that night or wait in jail for trial which might not come for months, a year, or longer during which you may lose your job, your residence, or your car.
It means that white people aren't likely to face on a daily basis subtle cues that remind you that your heritage was one of slavery, abuse, and injustice.
