The shooting arises from the notion that whites are being purged by the Jewish.
The other arises from political motives? Also, he's like 56, so, he grew up before Atari.
Darn those conspiracy theories and twisting of reality.

The idea that Trump's tweets cause violent events is absurd. As for video games, they are not the only content in violent media. His age is irrelevant. I'm 52, I played video games in arcades before I had a home system. There is no causational link between video games and violence, though there is correlation. The idea that there is a link between Trump's tweets and violent events is pure speculation and completely unproven, and even if it exists, suggesting that it has a bigger impact on violence than violent forms of entertainment is a real stretch.

Games are still games. How many gamers take themselves so literally that after losing they shoot people. There is at least 1.
Political rhetoric is dealing directly with people's lives and beliefs in the real world.

trump's arrival on the presidential candidacy trail has brought out much racial hatred and division as well as misogyny since that time. White supremacists have openly noted that trump has made more room for them to present their ideas publicly. Has Russia suffered any real consequences for sowing division during the election? Was Kaepernick able to get attention for his peaceful protest against violence without the president distracting from the purpose? Can female reporters ask trump questions without hearing "excuse me" as an interruption several times?

There is support for the idea that trump changed the rhetoric in the nation; that it led to increased division and hatred, that conspiracy theories were given more credibility despite the facts disproving them, that more discussion online painted white persons as under siege. It is easy to conclude that he changed the national culture in a way that promotes incidents like this.

I'm not sure that I can agree that Trump's campaign is responsible for bringing out hatred and division. That was already present during the Obama years, though I wouldn't go so far as to say he caused it. It is true that Trump's rhetoric has given voice to those who oppose the various social movements in this country, but that' s not the same thing as being responsible for violence. I've got to go - will address the rest later this evening.

I'm back. As for Russia, they haven't done anything that our own media and political ads do. I don't think Trump reduced Kaepernick's publicity one bit - if anything, Trump's disagreement may have given the matter more pub.

Division and hatred were already there. Certainly Trump has done little to assuage the situation. That said, there are many factors that more directly affect violence, (not the least of which are social movements themselves) and I think the unrestricted access to violent content is one of them.

Not just the campaign, the presidency too.

trump has made nationalists, racists, and supremacists more bold and open.

Fine people on both sides?
"Lebron (sic) James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon," Trump tweeted. "He made Lebron (sic) look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!"
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems.…They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.”
Muslim ban.
Can you denounce the KKK?
Announced he is a nationalist.
Shit-hole countries.
Bring back he death penalty, bring back our police.
Being lazy is a black trait.
trump would like to be a well educated black because of the advantages afforded them.
And a whole slew more.
I have asked Secretary of State @SecPompeo to closely study the South Africa land and farm seizures and expropriations and the large scale killing of farmers. “South African Government is now seizing land from white farmers.” @TuckerCarlson @FoxNews

and more and more and more....

Look, I'm really not interested in defending him. His bombastic hyperbole undercuts valid points. He makes straw man arguments out of his own agendas! Shit hole countries? How about "Why are we going to increase the numbers of unskilled labor in this country? Don't we have enough as it is?"

As ludricrous as some of what he says is, the charges made against him are equally ludricrous.
