Star Wars isn't ruined. PEOPLE are ruined.

I liked Solo and was looking forward to more movies before they slowed down the releases.

It's one thing to take your business elsewhere, and a totally different thing to claim your childhood was retroactively ruined. They are only MOVIES, after all.

There aren't enough space flicks out there. I need more. :-)

Actually, the only one I've seen of the new Star Wars movies is The Force Awakens. That movie was amazing.

I'm looking forward to seeing the other ones. They've got positive reviews from critics after all. =)

I agree. But in my opinion, the only negative thing that Disney did to Star Wars was shutting down Lucas Arts and having EA make the Star Wars games instead. I missed it when Star Wars games were usually good. We got Battlefront II 2005, The Force Unleashed I and II, Starfighter, etc.

They want ALL of the money. CBS, the owners of Star Trek do the same thing often. They send notices and take legal action whenever anything made by fans is better than what they put out. And now they have 'rules' that limit what fans can do with their creativity. Last week they shut down a virtual tour of the TNG Enterprise (D). It was just a frikkin' virtual tour - and beautiful. Now it's gone.

The whole Star Wars takeover didn't really phase me, I'd kinda lost interest in it by that point. But I must say that they really did a number on TH White's "The Once and Future King" when they made The Sword in the Stone. They took all the comical bits and added a shitona cheese and ruined a great story IMHO. The actual book is phantastic if you ever get a chance to read it. Man's inhumanity to man and what could we POSSIBLY do do save humanity is the main theme. =}

He means that people who like the prequels have a different taste from people who like Disney. Sure, the prequels were bad objectively, but people enjoy it. A movie might be utter garbage, but it can still gain a following because it's enjoyably bad.

The Room, by Tommy Wiseau, is considered a movie so bad it's good, and people see the prequels as being so bad, they're good. Just because a movie is objectively awful doesn't mean it has charm which appeals to some people. You might find nothing in the prequels, but I do.
