This is what happened.

Imgflip is a left owned website that's been hijacked by conservative users. Unleashing liberal attack trolls wasn't working so the mods decided to keep the normies from ever having to see the predominantly conservative memes. Coincidence we're less than a month away from the midterms? I think not.

What's truly going on is far beyond the liberal/conservative paradigm. Now there are mostly Neoconservatives and neoliberals, many of which, inadvertently are supporting the powerful large monetary interests that have hijacked "our" system. Again, this is not about liberal versus conservative. Social issues on both sides are used to keep those in power which support the funders not the constituents. This is an issue the supposed left and right can come together on.
