I agree there has to be another way to do it.
As you can see my problem is really with the mods in the current form dictating what memes we can submit by the categories by their numbers. Per their own judgment I have never submitted a political meme, I guess until having to do this now.
So considering this meme that I submitted this morning went back to submit this image. I put a request in the feedback form that if we don't do political memes could we possibly get the number of political memes decreased by one and the number of fun ones increased by one. I just submitted it though, so we'll see what happens.
I do like your idea though, it would seem much less controversial, and much easier.
